The president of the Organizing Committee of Feria Hábitat València 2026, businessman Vicente Pons from the firm Point, analyzes the outlook for the upcoming event from September 28 to October 1.
Pons anticipates that forecasts are approaching 120,000 m² of exhibition space, which would represent “the largest event in two decades.”
València, March 25, 2026.— Feria Hábitat València is approaching its 2026 edition with the aim of consolidating its growth and strengthening its position as a major international platform for the habitat sector. The president of the Organizing Committee, Vicente Pons—also linked to the historic firm Point, present at every edition of the fair—analyzes the keys to an event that aims to mark a turning point due to its scale, its global offering, and its ability to generate real business opportunities.
What expectations do you have for the upcoming edition of Feria Hábitat València 2026?
We are approaching 2026 with reasonable optimism, based on data and the sector’s response. We come from a very solid trajectory in recent editions, and everything points to a new qualitative and quantitative leap. The habitat industry is showing adaptability, a commitment to design, and an international vocation, and Hábitat reflects all of this. Our goal is to consolidate that growth with an ambitious edition, but always with our feet on the ground.
One of the main pillars will be the joint celebration with other fairs. What does this formula bring?
It is one of the major strengths of this edition. The coincidence with Textilhogar, Espacio Cocina SICI, and the new initiative 360 by Cevisama allows us to create a unique ecosystem. We are not just talking about adding fairs, but about building a global vision of the contemporary habitat: furniture, textiles, kitchens, bathrooms, materials, surfaces… everything connected and enhancing synergies among all sectors. Professionals, for example, will appreciate having this year a very significant presence from such a strategic sector as bathrooms, which has responded very well to this joint call.
Ultimately, all this positions us as the largest comprehensive showcase around the habitat sector in Europe and multiplies the appeal for both exhibitors and professional visitors.
What would you highlight about the exhibition offering planned for 2026?
Diversity and quality. Hábitat brings together a very comprehensive offering that ranges from furniture and decoration to lighting, textiles, or contract projects. In addition, we have a very solid exhibitor base: more than a thousand companies, with a clear national majority but with a growing international presence. This combination allows us to showcase the best of Spanish design alongside international proposals that enrich the whole and raise the level of the event.
Internationalization is precisely one of the pillars of the fair.
Without a doubt. Hábitat is today a benchmark not only in Spain but also beyond our borders. We work with key markets such as Europe, Latin America, and North America, and this translates into an international presence both in exhibitors and visitors. Internationalization is not a one-off objective; it is a structural strategy that we continue to strengthen edition after edition.
In that sense, what role does the Buyers Plan play?
It is absolutely strategic. We are talking about a program that exceeds one million euros in investment and aims to attract more than 3,000 professional buyers with high decision-making power, both national and international. What matters is not only the number but the quality of those profiles: distributors, specifiers, contract managers… ultimately, professionals who generate real business for exhibiting companies. That is the true value of Hábitat.
In addition, I must highlight the institutional and unconditional support we receive from public bodies, and I would especially like to emphasize the drive we receive from the Generalitat Valenciana and specifically Ivace + i Internacional. Their support for the industry and the internationalization of the fair is key, and proof of this is that thanks to them we can provide our exhibitors with more than 250 top-level buyers from those foreign markets that are key for our exports, as happened in the last edition and which we will exceed again in 2026.
What type of professional visitor predominates at the fair?
We have a very qualified and diverse profile. Approximately 38% are architects and interior designers, 26% belong to the retail channel, 24% to the contract sector, and 12% to purchasing groups. In other words, we cover the entire value chain of the habitat sector, from specification to distribution. This ensures that companies find real business opportunities.
There is talk that 2026 could be a historic edition in terms of size.
It is too early to give definitive figures, but we can say that we are working on a configuration that could reach 120,000 square meters of exhibition space across all events. If confirmed, it would be the largest event in more than twenty years in València. But beyond size, what matters is quality, the visitor experience, and the ability to generate business.
Beyond the exhibition offering, Hábitat also stands out for its content and parallel activities. What role do they play in the overall proposal of the fair?
They are an absolutely differentiating element. Feria Hábitat València is not only a commercial space; it is also a major forum for reflection, inspiration, and trends. In 2026, we will once again focus on high value-added proposals, such as the conceptual installation of a hotel designed by a leading creator, which will allow a very tangible visualization of the application of design in the contract sector. It is undoubtedly our flagship project and has consolidated itself over the last two editions as the fair’s main attraction point.
This is complemented by the Ágora nude program, with a complete schedule of conferences and round tables on the major challenges of the sector, as well as the nude exhibition, which continues to be an essential platform for young designers.
In addition, we promote different exhibitions linked to areas such as design, tradition, and innovation. Altogether, all these initiatives enrich the visitor experience and reinforce Hábitat’s positioning as a global design event.
You belong to Point, a historic firm that has been present at every edition. What does Hábitat mean for a company like yours?
For us, it is an essential event. Having participated in every edition gives us a very clear perspective on the evolution of the sector and the fair itself. Hábitat has known how to reinvent itself, grow, and adapt to market changes. Today it is a key platform for visibility, internationalization, and direct contact with clients. And that is something we companies particularly value.
Finally, what message would you send to the sector looking ahead to 2026?
That we are facing a great opportunity. The habitat sector has talent, industrial capacity, and enormous creative potential. Feria Hábitat València is the best showcase to project all of this to the world. Our commitment is to continue building a useful, competitive fair aligned with the real needs of companies. And in 2026, I am convinced that we will take another step in that direction.
