Hábitat 2025 to host first edition of new contemporary craft ‘TempoCraft’

Launch edition this September poised to bring together around 30 creatives from all over Spain in Hall 4, Level 3 at Hábitat to celebrate contemporary craft as a driver of creativity, identity and sustainability. Event set to be on a par with Collect (London), Révélations (Paris) and Homo Faber (Venice).

‘TempoCraft’ to be curated by Ramón Vergara (Contemporary Arts and Crafts Association) and sponsored by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship with director Alberto Cavalli set to attend official opening and speak at Feria Hábitat València’s  Ágora nude.

Valencia, 23th July 2025.- Conceived as a commercial, cultural and ‘networking’ fair for professionals, TempoCraft will be aiming to become the must-attend event for ‘Made in Spain’ design-led craft. The project has been curated by Ramón Vergara, of the Contemporary Arts and Crafts Association (ACAO) and is being promoted by Feria Valencia. It is being supported by the Generalitat Valenciana and the sponsorship of Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, the sector’s most prestigious international body.

The show will bring together 30 creative artisans from all over Spain, who will be presenting some works with disciplines ranging from ceramic and glass to natural fibres, textiles, stone, wood and new materials. All the pieces have been through a curated selection process that prioritized technical excellence, creativity, innovation and design.

As a space, TempoCraft will present a dialogue between the traditional and the contemporary, highlighting the value of time as the raw material of artisan practice. In the words of its curator, “it is an invitation to look slowly, to understand that craftsmanship is not the past, but is instead a way of living in the present with beauty and purpose”.

Alberto Cavalli, executive director of the Michelangelo Foundation and a key figure in the promotion of contemporary craft, will be attending the fair’s official opening, and is also on the roster of speakers at Ágora nude.

TempoCraft will be in Hall 4 on Level 3 at Feria Hábitat València, and will be open to all professionals visiting Hábitat. The pieces on show, will not be available for direct sale, but each item will feature a QR code providing technical information, the item’s price and its creator’s contact.

TempoCraft is aiming high, aspiring to establish itself as an annual point of reference in Europe’s contemporary craft ecosystem, on a par with fairs such as Collect (London), Révélations (Paris) and Homo Faber (Venice) exposition. The event will be running in synergy with Feria Hábitat València, Spain’s foremost annual design event and one of Europe’s key fairs for interiors.
