A concept room exploring the moment when we return to our room and the city is still with us.
In Madrid, you go out for a while and end up coming home with a story. Sometimes, much later than expected. This experience is the starting point for M.ight, the concept room presented by Stone Designs at Hábitat València: a space that extends the pulse of the city while inviting us to slow down.
M.ight is Madrid at night. It could be a last drink, a conversation that goes on longer than planned, or a plan that no one had expected. Here, the night could always last a little longer.
A room between the city and sleep
With this proposal, Stone Designs imagines how it would like to end a day in its city. The starting point is an everyday moment: arriving in the room, taking off your shoes and realising that you have brought something back with you. A conversation, a few lights, someone you didn’t know just a few hours ago.
That recent memory takes shape within the space. The deep blue of Madrid’s night sky envelops a landscape of intersecting and overlapping volumes, evoking the city’s architecture and its unexpected encounters.
Colour sets the rhythm and builds the atmosphere. Neon lights multiply across traffic mirrors, bringing fragments of the urban landscape indoors. Curtains create small retreats, allowing the intensity of the night and the intimacy of rest to coexist.
Everything revolves around one idea: a relative sense of peace. That moment when the body rests while the mind is still taking one last turn through the city.
Rest as part of the journey
Conceived for the exhibition context of Hábitat València, M.ight is Stone Designs’ exploration of the relationship between the hotel room, the place we visit and what we experience there.
The proposal considers how design can accompany the transition between activity and rest, while preserving the emotion of what has been experienced. The room thus becomes part of the memory of the journey.
M.ight expresses a way of understanding interior design in which colour, light and materials are placed at the service of people and their experiences. On this occasion, they shape an urban night that is open and unpredictable, finding a place in which to come to rest.
Sleep will come afterwards, with its own way of putting things in order.
The project has been developed in collaboration with Palmira, Emobok, B.Lux, Vergés, Now Carpets and Kvadrat.
