Feria Hábitat València and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities are designing an ambitious program to highlight the connection between design, industry, and excellence at the upcoming September event.
Hábitat will host a dedicated exhibition space for award winners and will schedule content linked to the award recipients (companies and professionals) within its conference and activity agenda.
València, May 7, 2026.- Feria Hábitat València 2026 is taking a strategic step in its positioning as Spain’s leading platform for design and the habitat industry through the incorporation of an ambitious program in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. This initiative consolidates the fair as the major showcase for the National Innovation and Design Awards, thereby strengthening the connection between institutional recognition, the business ecosystem, and international projection.
The next edition of Hábitat, to be held from September 28 to October 1 at Feria Valencia, will roll out a comprehensive proposal aimed at showcasing the talent, trajectory, and impact of the winners of these awards, considered the highest state recognition in the fields of design and innovation.
A historic relationship between design, trade fair, business, and talent
This collaboration is based on an established reality: throughout its history, Feria Hábitat València has consistently brought together a broad representation of companies and professionals distinguished with these awards, becoming the natural environment where recognized design materializes into products, applied innovation, and competitive market proposals.
In fact, more than thirty National Design and Innovation Award winners have been present at Feria Valencia. Companies from across Spain such as Punt Mobles, Andreu World, Kettal, Muebles 114, Roca, Nani Marquina, Stua, Royo Group, Actiu, Porcelanosa, Akaba, Ondarreta, Point, LZF Lamps, Expormim, Viccarbe, Enea, Sellex, Marset, Cosentino, Santa&Cole, BD Barcelona, and Sancal, among others.
Likewise, it brings together professionals who annually present their new designs, such as Patricia Urquiola, Jaime Hayon, Javier Mariscal, Mario Ruiz, Inma Bermúdez, Jordi Iranzo, and Alberto Liévore… as well as other award winners from different disciplines who have participated in projects and activities, such as Miguel Milá, Pepe Gimeno, Daniel Nebot, Nacho Lavernia, and Marisa Gallén. All of them as exhibitors, speakers, or active participants within the fair, shaping a sustained relationship between the institutional recognition of Spanish design and its practical manifestation in industry.
The 2026 edition: a dedicated space and activity agenda
In this context, the fair will create a unique exhibition space specifically dedicated to award winners in the Innovation and Design categories. Conceived as an open, contemporary, and educational environment, this space will integrate product pieces, audiovisual content, and exhibition resources that will allow visitors to understand how design acts as a driver of economic, social, and technological transformation.
In addition, the initiative will be complemented by a specific program within Feria Hábitat València’s professional agenda. Conferences, round tables, presentations, and meetings will foster direct dialogue between award-winning companies, designers, young talents, institutions, and international specifiers. This approach aligns with Feria Hábitat’s vocation as a space for knowledge transfer and sector dynamization, in synergy with platforms such as NUDE, Spain’s leading emerging design platform, which is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Spain.
A national commitment to design
The incorporation of the National Innovation and Design Awards within the framework of Hábitat 2026 reinforces a key message: design is not merely an aesthetic element, but a strategic tool for business competitiveness and the development of new production models. Integrating these awards into a large-scale trade fair environment allows their value to extend beyond the institutional sphere, projecting it toward industry, international markets, and the professional community.
Likewise, the regular presence of leading international media and buyers from strategic markets strengthens the potential of this initiative as a tool for international outreach and global visibility of Spanish design. In this sense, the alliance between Feria Hábitat València and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities aligns with a shared vision: positioning design as one of the pillars of innovation and excellence within Spain’s productive system.
