The second day of València Inspira Diseño has highlighted new trends in furniture, lighting, decoration and textiles, alongside an intensive professional programme focused on contract, hospitality, wellbeing and new technologies.
Martín Berasategui and Fernando Romay, Voolcan Grupo and designers such as Ramón Esteve, Fabio Novembre, Eugeni Quitllet and Héctor Ruiz have featured in some of the day’s most prominent events.
València, September 29, 2026.– Nature, wellbeing, versatility and personalization are among the main trends shaping new furniture, decoration, lighting and home textile collections being presented these days at València Inspira Diseño 2026. The second day has provided an opportunity to discover these proposals for the home and has brought together an intensive professional programme focused on design, architecture, interior design, contract and new technologies.
Exhibitors’ proposals reveal a shift towards warmer, more tactile, flexible and personalized spaces, where natural materials coexist with new technical solutions and design plays an increasingly important role in the experience of living in a space.
Furniture: versatility, natural materials and new forms
Furniture is embracing more versatile pieces, natural materials, enveloping shapes and solutions capable of adapting to different spaces and ways of living. Wood is regaining prominence through contemporary design languages, with new chairs, tables and occasional pieces combining wood, upholstery and lightweight structures. Natural-finish teak provides a warm, timeless aesthetic.
The sofa has become one of the main areas for experimentation, with modular compositions, curved configurations, sliding seats, adjustable backrests and removable elements. Some proposals allow users to change seat depth, incorporate electric mechanisms or transform the piece into a bed.
Versatility also extends to occasional furniture and the contract sector, with coordinated ranges and modular, customizable solutions. At the same time, organic shapes and natural materials reinforce a trend towards warmer, more sensory interiors.
Nature, colour and personalization
Natural inspiration is reflected in wood, clay, mineral textures and fabrics that reproduce the appearance of natural fibres, as well as sculptural pieces featuring botanical and marine forms.
Decorative surfaces are also taking on an architectural dimension, with geometric pattern systems that create relief and depth while incorporating sound-absorbing properties. At the same time, colour is emerging as a personalization tool, with new ranges of hardware in pastel shades such as lavender, peach, mint and lemon.
Textiles are increasingly combining aesthetics with technical performance, with blackout fabrics, outdoor collections featuring fire-retardant properties and contract proposals that reinterpret natural-looking textures. Rugs are expanding their possibilities through new formats, finishes and designs, for both indoor and outdoor settings.
Lighting, meanwhile, is taking on an increasingly important decorative and sculptural role. Glass, bronze, porcelain and metal are used to create luminaires inspired by botanical elements, water droplets, corals and water lilies, designed to contribute to the atmosphere of a space.
Design applied to contract and hospitality
One of the main focuses of the day has been the Foro Hotel Hábitat, where Voolcan Grupo presented its comprehensive vision for hospitality projects. Under the title ‘Designing the Experience: Contract and Hospitality’, Nacho Soriano explained the group’s brand ecosystem: Voolcan Contract, Skyline Design and SKLD Studio.
The programme has also addressed hotel consultancy, emotional interior design, home staging applied to luxury and the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence for personalizing contract projects.
Hotel Hábitat 2026 attracts great interest
The Hotel Hábitat 2026, a project conceived by Mexican architect Joaquín Homs, is attracting large numbers of visitors and numerous positive comments and has become one of the reference spaces of this edition.
During the day, Homs conducted a guided tour for the media, explaining the project’s key features and its different spaces. Its four suites are particularly prominent: the Orbital Suite, developed by Viruta LAB together with Tile of Spain; The Inner Reflection, designed by José Arroyo; Strata, by Studio HC; and the Porcelanosa Suite. The project also includes other spaces developed by Stone Designs, Abez, Made Studio and Odosdesign.
Berasategui and Romay discuss healthy living
One of the day’s highlights was the event held at the Foro AMC Kitchen Lab featuring Martín Berasategui and Fernando Romay. The chef, Senttix ambassador, and the former international basketball player discussed the importance of nutrition, rest and ergonomics as pillars of a healthy lifestyle.
Leading designers present brands’ latest innovations
The exhibitors’ programme brought together some of the most prominent names in national and international design. Ramón Esteve presented his latest proposals, while Eugeni Quitllet took part in several presentations of new products. Meanwhile, Héctor Ruiz and Fabio Novembre, designer of the Escala collection, explained the creative process behind their new proposals.
Also noteworthy were designs by Aitor García de Vicuña, as well as meetings with Jorge Penadés and Yonoh. The day also featured the participation of José Manuel Ferrero and Luis Calabuig, who are involved in the development of new design solutions.
Design, wellbeing and sustainability
The Ágora nude hosted various sessions addressing new challenges in design, including the round table ‘Designing Spaces That Improve Life’, organized by Actiu and moderated by Soledat Berbegal, with the participation, among others, of Juan Carlos Baumgartner and Nazaret Busto.
The programme also included a panel discussion by Women in Office Design (WOD), a meeting on communication around contemporary craftsmanship and design on social media, the presentation of the DIN Interior Design Awards 2027, and a talk by Alicia Cambra on sustainability and climate adaptation.
The second day of València Inspira Diseño has thus demonstrated how new proposals for the home combine nature, comfort, technology and personalization, while design is expanding its scope into hospitality, wellbeing and new ways of experiencing spaces.
València Inspira Diseño will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, with new professional sessions, presentations, meetings and activities involving the nearly 1,200 brands exhibiting at Feria Valencia.
