Hábitat will open its doors next September 29, eleven months after the tragedy, and will unveil a memorial featuring the ‘DANA’ sofa by Temasdos, which had been presented precisely in September 2024 at the last edition of Hábitat, just before the factory was devastated by the flood.
The memorial, located on Level 3, pays tribute to this company, which is once again exhibiting at Hábitat fully recovered, serving as an example of the resilience, perseverance, and effort of the entire Valencian furniture industry.
Valencia, September 18, 2025.– Late September 2024. Feria Valencia bustles with a new edition of Feria Hábitat València, held alongside Textilhogar and the biennial Espacio Cocina SICI. More than 40,000 professionals from five continents walk the halls in search of inspiration, trends, and designs among nearly 900 exhibitors.
One of them is the Valencian company Temasdos. In a spacious and bright stand, it showcases its latest collections and upholstered sofa models. A company that is part of a second generation of Valencian upholsterers, which for more than half a century has evolved to bring comfort and style into homes, and which today has achieved its own refined style with high standards of quality and design.
In a prominent space of its stand, it displays a new sofa. With voluptuous shapes and exquisite elegance, it suggests a soft, enveloping embrace when sitting down. Following the maritime tradition of naming pieces after weather phenomena and stars, the team of owners had decided to give this new sofa a special name. A name that, a month later, would resonate violently in southern Valencia: DANA.
Just a month after Feria Hábitat València closed its doors in September 2024, on October 29, a flood of thousands of cubic meters caused by a DANA (name in spanish of Isolated Depression at High Levels) ravaged the region of l’Horta Sud in Valencia. Among the many factories and industries affected were the Temasdos facilities in Albal.
Those were extremely tough weeks, recall the team at Temasdos. Over 5,000 square meters of factory destroyed, orders ready to be shipped ruined, unusable fabrics and machinery. Nevertheless, they asked clients, suppliers, and employees to trust the company. That they would pull through.
Today, eleven months later, Temasdos is back exhibiting at Feria Hábitat València. Already in full production, with new products, orders, and normalized manufacturing, both the company and Feria Hábitat València wanted to share with visitors of the upcoming edition a glimpse of what this tragedy has meant for the region.
The best way conceived was through a simple circular memorial designed by Estudio Guerrero, to be located in one of the corridors on Level 3 of Hábitat, displaying images of those terrible days at the Temasdos facilities. At its center will stand one of the pieces that will forever mark the history of the company’s collections: the DANA sofa.
A tribute, as Temasdos points out, that focuses not on the tragedy itself but on the recovery in the face of adversity and on the ability to carry forward the legacy of the finest Valencian upholstery tradition..
Feria Hábitat and Textilhogar: a unique offering with international appeal
Feria Valencia will host, from September 29 to October 2, the joint celebration of the benchmark fairs for furniture, lighting, decoration, home textiles, upholstery, and contract.
