Estos muebles no salieron sin más, vienen de los oficios tradicionales, carpinteros, tapiceros, herreros, canteros.. aprendimos viendo, curioseando, haciendo, y haciendo conocimos a otra gente que lo había hecho tiempo atrás, eso nos dio la esencia, el respeto por estos oficios.

Hay tal número de sillas , mesas….que es incontable. Nuestro trabajo consiste en abrir una puerta más a todo lo que sentimos aprecio que son los oficios tradicionales y que se están perdiendo. Es condición de los materiales utilizados un profundo homenaje a la luz, la transparencia, la grieta, …

El pergamino, una obsesión, nos habla como un oráculo.

Las perforaciones, una búsqueda leve, del vacío.

La piel, es global, su tacto nos representa a todos con perfúmenes diferentes.

Esta aventura en equipo comienza hace muchos años, entre Javier Maya y Estela Arteche. Años de aprender el oficio, en la arquitectura, en el espacio, nos han devuelto la esencia, la sustancia para trabajar la pequeña escala con oficios artísticos, tapiceros, carpinteros… siempre pensando si será posible conservar la sensualidad del material en la obra terminada. Los espacios, reales, virtuales que acompañan estos oficios han encontrado especial acogida en nuestro trabajo diario.

La emoción ha crecido con nosotros.

These furnitures did not come without any reason. They are based on the traditional professions, carpenters, upholsterers, blacksmiths, stonemasons… We learnt by seeing, with curiosity and by making and making we found out the craftsmen  who did the same long time ago, All this takes us to the essence, definitively the respect of those professions. There are so many chairs, table…, that it is countless

Our job consists in opening one more door for what we admire and deserves the respect to the traditional  professions which are being lost.

All the materials that are used are a deep tribute to:

• the light,
• the transparency,
• the engraving

The parchment, an obsession which talks to us if it was an oracle.

The perforations, a gentle search into the vacuum.

The skin, is universal, its touch represents all of us with different scents.

This team adventure began some years ago between Javier Maya & Estela Arteche.Years of learning this profession with the architecture and with the space has given us the essence, the substance to work the «small scale» with craftsmen, upholsterers and carpenters……. always thinking if it would be possible to preserve the sensuality of the material in the final work. The spaces real and virtual which accompany this work have became ingrained in our daily lives.

This emotion has grown with us.
