Feria Hábitat Valencia: a showcase for the latest creations

From 28th September to 2nd October the most wide ranging collection of products for Made in Spain interiors will be on show at Feria Valencia. The 2010 fair encompasses the very latest in furniture, lighting, décor, upholstery, bedrooms, home textiles and outdoor furniture and accessories. It will also be featuring office furnishings and technological solutions for the home of the future.

In short, Feria Hábitat Valencia is the most comprehensive and unique showcase on the international circuit of fairs for the world of interiors.

Highlighting the strategic aspect of Spain as a bridge between Europe and Ibero-America Feria Hábitat Valencia will be hosting the 1st Iberoamerican Congress for the Interior Architecture Profession.

A fresh approach to the layout of Feria Hábitat Valencia

A ground-breaking design of the space, conceived by architect Héctor Ruiz, will turn the upcoming Feria Hábitat Valencia into a cityscape in which the stands are shop windows. An appealing vision that highlights the original nature of the fair.

The Project will reflect big city life, flair and energy – the source of the main trends in interiors -  in each of the fair’s pavilions. The exhibition will thus be taking its inspiration from the metropolis and the rhythm of city life as a framework for presenting the show’s content. Each of the sectors will be grouped together in ‘districts’ that will reveal the trends for 21st century interiors.

Companies that use design as the main feature that creates their u.s.p., whether in classic or leading edge style products, will have a space of their own in La Galería (The Gallery), the special exhibition area dedicated exclusively to NEW PRODUCTS from Spanish and foreign manufacturers.

Top operators ally themselves with Valencia

Patricia Urquiola is poised to play a part in Feria Hábitat Valencia for the first time. Considered to be one of the most influential designers in the world, Urquiola will be in charge of a space in which leading Spanish designers will bring their visions for interiors to life.

Experimentation is also being assigned a place of its own in the shape of the R, D + i Kitchen Workshops. Run in collaboration with AIDIMA, the Workshops will present advanced prototypes the design of which has involved the end user. The Workshops are a new way of staging this biennial show and are a means of maintaining contact with the companies that are featured at the International Kitchen Design show (furnishings, equipment and décor, wine cellars and outdoor kitchens). The format should also help the industry progress towards a business model geared to professional and domestic users.

Feria Hábitat Valencia is launching a weighty advertising campaign that is being fronted by architect and designer Jean Marie Massaud, design consultancy La Granja and master of colour Pepa Poch, who is the only Spanish member of the I.C.A International Colour Authority. The campaign will run in the major press titles, blogs and supplements specialising in the world of interiors.

The nude show, a springboard for new talent

When nude opens it will be as a ‘laboratory’ showing experiments with new ideas: young designers showing their creations to manufacturers and retailers.

Mª José Guinot, a president with a passion for interiors

Feria Hábitat Valencia’s president Ma José Guinot’s endeavours to create very clear added value for the fair are guided by a number of premises: to instil confidence in the companies that operate in the interiors industry, give them a sense that the fair is involved, devise new projects that will enhance the commercial proposition, create programmes to boost internationalisation and exercise perseverance to achieve objectives

A businesswoman, she is the visible head of a project that now has fresh drive and aims to give a boost to the interiors business in Spain whilst also promoting the industry internationally.
